Cape Fear Coin Club News

The Cape Fear Coin Club held its annual dinner banquet Thursday January 22, 2009 at the Sandpiper Seafood in Fayetteville, NC. The club which continues to be one of the longest running has been active in the Fayetteville, NC area since 1960. During 2008, the club actively recruited many new members from the surrounding area including several young numismatist and now has an active membership near 100 members. The club meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Honeycutt Recreation Center on Ft. Bragg Road in Fayetteville, NC. The club had a strong turn out for the dinner, and everyone really enjoyed the evening which included several door prize drawings and a free 2009 American Silver Eagle to each paid member. At the banquet dinner each year, the club presents prior year officers with a small gift in appreciation for their service to the club in keeping the Cape Fear Coin Club one of the most active. Lower Cape Fear Coin Club News:

The Lower Cape Fear Coin Club (Wilmington, NC) will host their annual Azalea Festival Coin Show in conjunction with the North Carolina Azalea Festival April 4th and 5th.

Azalea Festival week features 2 major concerts, garden tours, home tours, a street fair, a circus and of course the Azalea Festival Coin Show.  This year the show will feature the ANA's Money of the Civil War' exhibit - a four case exhibit featuring civil war gold, two cent pieces, encased postage stamps, confederate currency, and civil war tokens.  If you're a Civil War buff - the dealers will be stocked with civil war numismatics.  The show is Saturday April 4th from 10-5 and Sunday April 5th from 10-4 at American Legion Post 10, 702 Pine Grove Dr, Wilmington, NC.  For more information see the Azalea Festival Website  www.NCAzaleaFestival.org  more or the club website at www.LCFCC.org  40 dealers will be there and as usual a couple of the Azalea Belles will be there for the ribbon cutting and to draw the tickets of the lucky raffle winners.  The picture is of the 2 of the last year Belles welcoming visitors to the show.
